Today, June 6, is the 65th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe, known as D-day, which was the beginning of the end of World War II. Beginning at 6:30 am on June 6, 1944, over 150,000 American, British and Canadian troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of the beaches of Normandy, France to finish a war they did not start.
We honor them as we honor those who serve today for the freedom of our country.
